exceeded normal
operating pressure.
2. Pressure switch stuck.
1. Replace pressure switch.
2. Replace pressure switch.
Motor will not
run.
1. Tank pressure exceeds
preset pressure switch
limit.
2. Fuse blown or circuit
breaker tripped (make
sure the thermal
overload switch has
not tripped. The motor
has a built-in thermal
cut-out that trips to
protect the motor
from damagedue to
overheating).
3. Check valve stuck
open.
4. Extension cord is too
long, too light gauge
or damaged.
5. Loose electrical
connections.
6. Paint spray on internal
motor parts.
7. Possible defective
motor.
1. Motor will start automatically when
tank pressure drops below the cut-in
pressure of pressure tank.
2. Replace blown fuse or reset circuit
breaker. Do not use fuse or circuit
breaker with higher rating than
specified for your branch circuit. To
reset the motor overload, turn the
pressure switch AUTO/OFF lever to
the OFF position and unplug the unit
from the power outlet. Allow 10
minutes minimum for motor overload
cut-out to cool and reset. Unit can
then be plugged in and re-started.
2a. Check for proper fuse. A fuse
type T, such as a Fusetron, is
acceptable.
2b. Check for low voltage and
proper extension cord size.
2c. Disconnect other applications
from circuit. Operate compressor
on a dedicated circuit.
3. Remove and clean or replace.
4. Replace extension cord with another
one that is at most 50 ft long and at
least 12 gauge.
