Manual cleaning and decalcify
Manual cleaning
For quick, manual cleaning without the
automatic programs (10 and 11), pro-
ceed as follows:
1.
Remove the power cord from the
unit.
2.
Take the top part of the Vegimat
by the handle and hold it diago-
nally into the sink under running,
warm or hot water. Use the
supplied sponge or brush from
the supplied cleaning kit and 1-2
drops of dish detergent to remo-
ve any food residues.
Then rinse off the foam.
3.
Now take the jug handle and fill
some hot water into it, plus 1-2
drops of dish detergent.
Clean the interior quickly with a
spoon or brush.
Then rinse several times with
clean water.
Always make sure that both
parts must not be immersed in
water!
Moreover, you need to take care that
the top of the device, the bottom of the
pot, and the power connector in the
handle of the jug gets no contact with
water!
Decalcify
Calcium deposits on the heating
element are safe, but can affect
the appearance and taste of the
water and thus your prepared
drinks or food.
Regular descaling also saves
energy and increases the lifetime
of the Vegimat.
The calcification of the heating
element is dependent upon the
calcium content (hardness) of
your water supply.
The higher the lime content, the
more often you should descale
the Vegimat, especially if there is
visible calcification.
Normally, a decalcification about
every 2-3 months is sufficient, if
used daily.
For the correct descaling proce-
dure, please read the instruction
manual of your descaling agent.
Proceed as described for a com-
mon kettle.
