Insulation monitoring
Is this inverter being mounted in a vehicle of any other mobile or movable unit? And is the 230VAC going to be
used outside the vehicle/unit? Then please pay attention to the following:
230 Volt in your vehicle or mobile workshop. Your inverter supplies the requested
230 Volt AC voltage, so that the connected equipment and / or tools function as if
they were connected to the 230 Vac grid. What many users underestimate is the
safety earth. In buildings and works, an earth leakage circuit breaker is (not without
reason!) Mandatory: In the event of an earth fault or accidental touching, the earth
leakage circuit breaker switches off the 230-volt current very quickly, which prevents
personal injury (or worse). However, in a mobile application an earth leakage circuit
breaker is not a reliable safety.
After all, the vehicle is on rubber tires what makes it insulated from earth.
As soon as the energy generated in the vehicle is used outside the vehicle, a life-threatening situation arises in the event
of an earth fault, with a high risk of electrocution and personal injury. Even double insulated tools do not provide any
protection in that case. Protect yourself and fellow users from these risks.
As an employer you are responsible and you must assume that persons who are not knowledgeable can also use the 230
Volt in the vehicle. The law obliges employers to guarantee a safe workplace.
The
IBW 230-25
insulation guard behind the inverter allows safe work in all circumstances and protects the user from the
dangers of an earth fault, touch and / or electrocution. The IBW 230-25 insulation guard meets the strictest requirements
and offers 100% protection under all circumstances.
