Configuring the PowerLeap™ PL-iP3

Installation Guide
As mentioned in the previous chapter, the method that your motherboard provides
for setting the FSB speed will determine the frontside bus speed setting that you
choose on the PL-iP3.
•
If your motherboard has jumper switches for setting the FSB speed, the
PL-iP3’s jumper switches (JP1 and JP2) will override the motherboard
settings
on the condition
that the motherboard’s FSB speed jumpers are set to
“automatic”. If the motherboard’s FSB setting is set to a specific speed, the
PL-iP3’s speed setting will have no effect (be overridden).
•
If your motherboard offers “jumperless” speed configuration through
settings in BIOS, the PL-iP3’s speed setting will have no effect (be
overridden).
•
If your motherboard offers “jumperless” speed configuration by
automatically setting the FSB speed to the FSB rating of the CPU, you can
use the PL-iP3’s jumper switches (JP1 and JP2) to change the FSB speed.
