Continuous shredding of thick wood or branches can cause the machine to jam.
▪
Soft material like leaves or sprigs can easily block the inlet: use a stick to poke it in.
▪
Always check litter for nails and stones before shredding as they can seriously damage
the shredder.
▪
Watch for vibrations, vibration indicates worn or damaged blades.
▪
Replace blades if necessary.
8.5.1
How do I collect the shredded material?
▪
Shut-off the power unit before attaching or removing the bag.
▪
You can use either the collection bag supplied or place the shredder on a tarpaulin sheet
to catch the shredded material.
▪
When using the collection bag, you need to fit the collection bag hooks onto the sides of
the discharge chute.
Warning: The ventilation slots on the machine body must never be covered
by the collection bag or shredded material.

11 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before commencing cleaning and maintenance procedures, make sure the garden shredder is
switched off and disconnected from the mains supply. Always wear sturdy leather gloves when
cleaning the cutter blades.
▪
To ensure the best performance from the garden shredder, it must be kept clean.
▪
Always clean the garden shredder immediately after use.
▪
Do not allow material to become dry and hard on any of the garden shredder surfaces.
This will directly affect the shredding performance.
▪
Make sure that the inlet chute and the discharge chute are kept clean and clear of all
waste material.
▪
Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight and secure.
