8-4. Turn on the parallel system without utility power supply (in Battery mode)
a) Turn on the battery breaker.
b) Press the “ON” button of one UPS to set up the power supply. The UPS will enter to power on mode.
After initialization, the UPS will enter to No Output mode. Then, press the “ON” button again to turn
on the UPS.
c) A few seconds later the UPS will turn on and enter Battery mode.
d) Repeat steps (a) thru (c) for the other UPS(s).
e) This completes the installation of the parallel system which will now supply power to the load.
8-5. Turn off the parallel system
Press and hold the “OFF” button to turn off each UPS one by one. The buzzer will beep once and the UPS
will enter bypass mode or no output mode synchronously.
8-6. Add one new unit into the parallel system
a) A UPS cannot be added into the parallel system while the system is running. The load must first be re-
moved and then the parallel system shut down.
b) Make sure the UPS that will be added to the parallel system is a parallel model and follow the instructions
outlined in the previous sections.
8-7. Remove one unit from the parallel system
a) On the UPS to be removed from the parallel system press the “OFF” button twice. The UPS will enter
bypass mode or no output mode without output.
b) Turn off the output breaker on this UPS. Then turn off the input breaker on this UPS.
c) After the UPS shuts down remove the parallel cable and the share current cable.
d) Remove the UPS from the parallel system.
