S/390 9910 UPS Service and Support
The following sections describe installation, service, and support for the
UPS and warranty information.
Installation
Installation of the UPS is provided by the IBM S/390 Customer Engineer.
The process is the same for IBM North America, IBM Asia Pacific, IBM
Europe/Middle East/Africa and IBM Latin America.
Warranty
The warranty service on Powerware Corporation UPSs is element
exchange. If the UPS becomes inoperative, the module that is
inoperative will be replaced. For 6 kVA UPSs, this would either be the
battery, the PowerPass Distribution Module, the Power Processing Unit,
the Transformer Module, or interconnection cable between the UPS and
the optional battery cabinets. Under NO CONDITIONS are IBM
Customer Engineers authorized to remove the covers from any of the
UPS modules. The UPSs for this program are warranted by Powerware
Corporation for up to five (5) years. Warranty time may vary from
country to country as per local regulations. Warranty time starts when
the UPS is delivered to the customer, not to exceed 66 months from date
of manufacture.
Connected Equipment Insurance
With this program, Powerware Corporation provides a $25,000
Powerware Protection Guarantee. See page 85 for specific terms and
conditions of the Powerware Protection Guarantee.
