Compressor preservation.
(1)
Remove the dust separator in accordance with helicopter's maintenance manual and connect dust separator
inlet and oil outlet pipe assembly using a special coupling.
(2)
Install the protective cover on compressor Vl-th stage air bleeding valve outlet or wrap it in foil.
(3)
Prepare the spray nozzle device (see Table 201, item 4) for spraying compressor's protective compound.
(4)
Fill the receptacle of the spray nozzle device with approx. 100 cm
3
(100 ml; 6.1 cu.in.) of protective compound
(see Table 202, item 2) and check the quality of spraying.
(5)
Replenish the receptacle of the spray device up volume of approx. 100 cm
3
(100 ml; 6.1 cu.in.).
(6)
Perform dry motoring (see 71-02-00, ADJUSTMENT AND TESTS, item 3.C.) during which at 5 ÷ 7 seconds
prior to switching off the motor starter, switch on the feeding of the protective compound into engine inlet.
(7)
Inspect compressor inlet and remove excess of protective oil using cotton cloth.
(8)
Install dust separator assembly in accordance with helicopter maintenance manual.
(9)
Install the protective covers on engine inlet and outlet.
(10)
Record performed preservation in engine log book.
NOTE:
To depreserve the engine, one may also use the compressor wash device filling the rinse solution
tank with protective compound as in item (4). The device is described in 71-02-00, CLEANING
AND PAINTING, item 1.
E.
Engine External Preservation for the Period of - up to One Year.
Engine external preservation is performed after removing the engine from the helicopter (see 71-02-00, REMOVAL
AND INSTALLATION, item 2), no later than 10 days after its internal preservation on helicopter.
(1)
Install the engine on the stand (see Table 201, item 2) or on shipping container base.
(2)
Inspect engine externally (see 71-02-00, ADJUSTMENT AND TESTS, item. 2).
(3)
Install the protective covers on electrical connections (joints) of motor starter and on plug-in connectors of
power turbine speed pick-up.
(4)
Install the protective covers on the connections of the engine's accesories and assemblies.
(5)
Secure by wire all installed protective covers.
