POWER TURBINE SPEED PICK-UP - REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Removal and installation of the power turbine speed pick-up (see 72 02-00, Dwg 2 and 3, item
1,2, 29)
A.
Pick-up removal.
(1)
Disconnect the electric lead from the pick-up (see item C).
(2)
Unscrew the nuts fastening the pick-up to the casing (see item C).
(3)
Take out the pick-up from the casing.
(4)
Measure the "L" size of the pick-up and record it (Dwg 401).

NOTE:
Measure the "L" size to the flange surface in the case when no shim under
the pick-up flange.
B. Pick-up installation.
(1)
Replace for the new one the sealing ring in the casing hole (see 72-02-00, Table
203, item 22)
(2)
Measure the “ L" size of new pick-up (Dwg 401).
(3)
Obtain the "L" dimension as measured before (A.(4)) by selecting shims (see
72-02-00, Table 203, item 23) to preserve required clearance between the pick-up
face and the toothed gear. The clearance should be from 0.3 to 0.5 mm.
(4)
Insert the pick-up into the box casing, place new washers on the studs and tighten
the nuts, (see item D).
