Checking and adjusting V-belt tension, changing the V-belt
To check the tension of the V-belt, proceed as follows:
Release the screws (1) on the cover plate (2).
The cover plate (2) is now released from the belt guard (3).
Remove the cover plate (2) from the belt guard (3).
Using your thumb, press the V-belt (4) at top middle between the belt pulleys (8) and (9). The V-belt (4)
may “give” by no more than the width of the V-belt.
To adjust the tension of the V-belt, proceed as follows:
Mark the position of the electric motor on the com-
pressor base plate (5).
Release the motor fastening screws (6) on the base
plate (5).
Release the motor fastening screws (7) on the belt
guard (3).
Slide the motor (small belt pulley (8)) towards the
compressor unit (large belt pulley (9)) to remove the
V-belt (4). Replace the V-belt if necessary.
Now slide the motor approx. 2 mm back over the
previously applied marking.
Secure the motor using the fastening screws (6) and
(7).
First lay the V-belt (4) over the small pulley (8) of the motor and then press the V-belt (4) over the large
pulley (9) of the compressor unit.
Check the V-belt tension again and if necessary repeat the procedure.
Reattach the cover (2) to the belt guard (3) with the screws (1).
ATTENTION!
Compressor may incur damage as a result of unsuitable V-belt tension.
Make sure the V-belt tension is correctly adjusted.
