2. Square the running belt on the running deck. drive roller, and take-up roller and ten-
sion the running belt to specification, see
"Running Belt Tension and Tracking Adjust-
DO NOT
apply power or verify the running belt tracking at this step in the process, the
running belt tracking will be verified after the Drive Belt is installed.
IMPORTANT
: It is necessary to tension the running belt prior to tensioning the
drive belt.
3. Install the drive belt onto the drive motor pulley (walk the belt onto the drive motor pul-
ley).
4. Make sure the drive belt is properly aligned by verifying that the drive belt is parallel to
the left frame rail. Measure the drive belt-to-frame rail distance at the drive roller pul-
ley and at the drive motor pulley. The drive belt is correctly aligned when the two
measured distances are the same.
CAUTION
: A misaligned drive belt can cause high pitch belt noises, damage to the
belt, and possible drive motor pulley or drive roller pulley hardware damage.
5. Tension the drive belt to specification, see
"Drive Belt Tension Adjustment" on

applies to reinstalling an existing belt or re-tensioning an existing used belt.
6. Complete the running belt installation by verifying the running belt alignment and
tracking, see
"Running belt alignment and tracking adjustment" on page 55
.
7. Reinstall the hood cover, see .
8. Do the Operation Verification tests (see
"Operation Verification" on page 17
) and
return to service.
