If you sand through to metal surface, first prime
with Standox “Etch Primer (ST-11858)” then with
Standox “Non Stop Fill Primer (ST-11000)”.
CAUTION
Be sure to heed all paint manufacturer’s
recommendations, especially concerning paint
dilution and application.
5.3 PAINTING
The standard paint used on the exterior of the
vehicle is Standox Basislack. It is a high gloss
polyurethane enamel finish designed for
exposure to extreme conditions. Other types of
paint may be called for as options by owner but
are not dealt with in this section.
5.3.1 Safety
Care should be exercised in storing, handling,
mixing, and applying paint and chemicals listed
in this manual. The topcoat, primer, solvent,
catalysts, accelerators, and cleaners are highly
volatile and/or toxic if not properly used.
Observe all safety instructions marked on the
different packaging, as well as the following:
1. Do not smoke in the paint room or in
adjacent area exposed to residue fumes.
2. Wear respirators approved by the governing
safety and health regulations.
3. Maintain adequate ventilation at all times.
4. Dispose of any leftover paint mix properly.
5. Wear rubber gloves, rubber apron, and face
shield during all phases of paint and
chemical handling

Sand using P-150 grit sandpaper. It
is recommended to sandblast rivets
and panel edges with OLIMAG 35-
70 blast media.
