SECTION 2: KEY INSERTED INTO
KEY SWITCH -POWER ON BUT THE
SCOOTER DOES NOT MOVE.
Symptoms:
!
The battery condition meter shows power.
!
The horn works.
!
The scooter will not move or sound a beep code.
Diagnosis:
Power is interrupted between the key switch (3a) and the S-
Drive controller (7).
Solution:
Use the following procedure to find the source of the problem:
1. Remove the battery box. Refer to the owner’s manual.
2. Measure resistance across pin 1 and pin 2 on connector
1h. See figures 2 and 12.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then go to the
next step.
— If your multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then re-
place the battery box harness with fuseable link
(DWR9983H009) and retest the system.
3. Open the front console. See figure 6.
4. Unplug connector 4c from connector 3a. See diagram 2.
5. With the scooter key inserted and turned to the powered
on position, measure resistance across pin 2 and pin 3 on
connector 3a. See figure 13.
— If your multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then go to
the next step.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then replace the
console (3) and retest the system.
6. Remove the main shroud. See figure 8.
7. Unplug connector 4a from connector 5a. See diagram 2.
8. Measure resistance across pin 2 on connector 4c and pin
2 on connector 4a. See figure 14.
— If your multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then go to
the next step.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then replace the
front-to-rear harness (4) and retest the system.
9. Remove the cover from the S-drive controller (7). See
diagram 3.
10. Unplug connector 5b from connector 7a. See diagram 2.
11. Measure resistance across pin 2 on connector 5a and pin
5 on connector 5b. See figure 15.
— If your multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then re-
place the S-drive controller (7) and retest the system.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then replace the
front-to-rear interface harness (5) and retest the system.
