The wire which is coloured BLUE must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter L or coloured red.
The wire which is coloured GREEN/YELLOW
must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter E or (earth symbol) and
is coloured GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW.
If a 13Amp (BS1363) plug is used, a 3Amp
(BS1362) fuse must be fitted, or if any other
type of plug is used, a 13Amp fuse must be
fitted, either in the plug or adaptor, or on the
Distribution Board.

Your 519300 Princess hair straightener has
been designed for straightening your hair.

Use
Switching on and off (fig. A, B & C)
To switch on the appliance, set the
•
on/off switch (1) to the ’ON’ position.
The temperature indicator (3) comes on.
Turn the temperature switch (2) to the
•
required position. Refer to the section
”Setting the temperature”.
If the temperature indicator (3) goes off,
•
the heating elements (5) have reached the
required temperature. The temperature
indicator (3) starts to flash. The appliance
is ready for use.
To switch off the appliance, set the on/off
•
switch (1) to the ’OFF’ position.

The temperature must be set according to the
hair type.
Inspection and repairs
Before use, check the appliance for

damaged or defective parts. Inspect the
appliance for breakage of parts, damage to
switches and other conditions that can
affect the operation.
Do not use the appliance if any part is

Do not use the appliance with a higher

temperature setting than required.
Reduce the level of the temperature setting
during the process.
Before use, make sure that your hair is

fully dry. Hair is most fragile and prone to
breakage when it is wet. If you use the
appliance on damp hair, the cuticle will be
opened and the cortex will be damaged.
Make sure that the heating elements of the

appliance do not touch your skin to avoid
skin burns.

As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of
this appliance may not correspond with the
colour markings identifying the terminals on
