The lines in

in Figure 33 are not used by PSF/400.
Instead, PSF/400 uses the information entered in the
device description screen.

The following parameters are recommended:
a.
PSF configuration (PSFCFG)
The name used for this PSF configuration object. The
name must match the user-defined object name
(
USRDFNOBJ
) in the printer DEVD.
b.
IPDS pass through (IPDSPASTHR)
To print SCS files, specify
*YES
, PSF/400 transforms SCS
into IPDS before printing.
c.
Activate release timer (ACTRLSTMR)
Specifies the point at which the release timer (
RLSTMR
) is
activated. Set to
*NORDYF
.
d.
Release timer (RLSTMR)
Specifies the amount of time to wait before a session or
dialog is released without terminating the writer. The
ACTRLSTMR
parameter specifies when this timer is to be
activated. Set the parameter to a value at least equal to the
TIMEOUT value on the printer. The recommended value is
*SEC15
.
Configuring PSF With CRTDEVPRT On V3R7 And
Above
This section describes how to create a printer device description.

At the AS/400 command line, enter a command in the form:
