FAULT CONDITION
STACKER
The paper is not stacking properly.
Reposition the paper gate by sliding
the paper scale in or out.
The stacker does not
raise when the toggle
switch is pressed.
The emitter photosensor beam is
blocked. There is too much paper
on the stacker paper rack. The
printer is printing. The paper rack
is jammed.
Make sure nothing is blocking the
emitter beam. Remove any paper
obstructing the beam. The tray will
not raise while the printer is
printing. (See note.)
PAPER OUT
The paper supply needs to be
replenished.
Replace paper in the printer cabinet.
Start the paper feeding manually as
described in “Loading Paper” in the
User’s Manual.
The BEAM LED on the
stacker control panel
does not light.
The emitter photosensor beam is
blocked or misaligned.
Reposition the beam and the light
shield. Refer to “Test the Power
Paper Stacker” on page A–18. Make
sure nothing is blocking the emitter
beam.
NOTE: The stacker contains current overload protection. If the stacker is jammed or
overloaded, the motor may draw excessive current. Should this occur, the motor
will shut off. To restart, release the toggle switch and press again. If the motor
shuts off again, check for the rack jamming against the gates, paper box, or other
obstruction. If nothing can be found, the motor and/or logic card may need to be
replaced.
