Operation Manual Issue 2.00
Page 6.34
allows the Generator Channel Status to be 'cloned' from a convenient or working
source equipment, or used to over-ride the output of another equipment using 'in-line
editing' mode.
Note that if the captured Channel Status is in the professional format, a correct CRC
is generated even if the incoming CRC was incorrect. Also, the timecode fields of a
captured professional Channel Status are set transparent.
If the selected DI input is unlocked (Carrier failed), then the GEN1 edit buffer is cleared
instead. This provides a quick method of clearing all fields of the edit buffer. The
message in this case is:
Clearing
Channel Status
NOTE: The capture or clearing action described above is always executed, even if
GEN2 is currently selected instead of GEN1.
After capturing or clearing is completed, the menu system automatically returns to the
'Generator' level.
6.4.7.
Valid Bit (menu 4.7.)
The Valid Bit sub-menu displays the current state of the Generator Valid Bit. The
display format is:
Ù
A&B:Valid bit=0
(valid)
If GEN1 is selected, the flashing arrow appears in the upper left-hand corner to show
that the [<] and [>] keys can be used to adjust the state of the Valid bit. If GEN2 is
selected, the Valid bit is always set to 0 (valid) and so no adjustment is possible.
The 'A&B' legend shows that both sub-frames (channels) are subject to adjustment,
since in GEN1 mode each sub-frame could contain different Valid bits if the Edit Mode
were set to SPLIT. In that case, the 'A&B' indicator would be replaced by 'ChA' or 'ChB'
according to the setting of the [CHAN] key.
Remember that the settings of this sub-menu are only presented at the Generator
output so long as Validity editing is selected in the Edit Modes sub-menu. If not, the
Validity output is always 'black' or transparent depending on the Sync Source.
To return to the `Generator' level of the menu system, press [EXIT].
