6.6. Watchdog (menu 6.)
Watchdog mode monitors selected LEDs on the DSA-1 CARRIER and DATA panels
and details any activity, with time-stamps, in the Results Log. This mode is particularly
useful in tracking down intermittent system faults; for example occasional biphase
errors, brief fluctuations in sample-clock accuracy or changes in Channel Status may
cause serious operational problems but are usually difficult to isolate.
Setup mode is used to define the particular LEDs which are of interest, after which the
Run to Log mode can be left unattended for as long as necessary to log any changes.
By using the DSA-1 in 'loop-through' mode, in-line operation of the Watchdog mode is
possible during normal operation of an installation.
Watchdog mode can also be configured to flash any LEDs which have been active,
however briefly, since the start of the test whether they were selected for logging or not.
There are two different sub-menus in the Watchdog menu, shown below, which can be
selected using the [<] and [>] keys.

When the desired sub-menu is displayed, press [ENTER/NEXT] to enter that sub-
menu. Alternatively, to return to the top level of the menu system, press [EXIT].
