Pull out the cable in the direction shown by the arrow.
The backlight unit detaches from the backlight unit insertion point.

Insert the new backlight unit into the backlight holder.

Re-attach the cable to the backlight connector, and secure the cable in position using the cable clamp
(opposite of step (6)).
(10) Secure both backlights in place using the backlight screw (opposite of step (5)). The necessary torque is
0.147N•m.
(11) Replace the FDD unit in its original position and secure it in place using the two (2) attachment screws.
The necessary torque is 0.5N•m to 0.6N•m. Reconnect the FDD unit cable and power cable (opposite of
step (4)).
(12) Replace the rear cover and secure it in place using the five (5) attachment screws.
• The entire backlight unit should be changed, not just the backlight.
• Be sure the cable is inserted completely into the backlight connector. Failure to
do so may cause arcing, which can damage the connector.
• Be sure to always change both of the PS-A backlights at the same time.
• The cable clamp is used to prevent the cable from being caught inside in the PS-
A unit and possibly damaged. Be sure to insert the cable in the cable clamp
before replacing the rear cover.
