Keep the bilge area clean and free from debris that could clog ports or inhibit float movement. Also, keep the
battery (starboard) that provides power to the bilge pump charged. If the battery is not charged and flooding
occurs, the boat could swamp causing damage and possible loss of life or property.
Fish Boxes with Macerator Pump
Your boat is equipped with two 40-gallon aft fish boxes with a total capacity of 80
gallons. They are both plumbed to a fish box pump that is installed in the aft bilge
that is mounted on the starboard stringer. The pump can be accessed via the
bilge hatch and/or the motor well hatch.
This pump operates on a 2-way rocker switch (labeled fish box) that is located on
the switch panel. To operate the fish box macerator pump, fill either of the aft fish
boxes with water. Then, depress the fish box switch to the on position. The water
and fish particles will be pumped out of the tubs and then overboard via the fish
box thru hulls on the side of the boat. When you are finished emptying the fish
box, place the fish box switch in the aft position to turn off the fish box macerator
pump.
Fresh Water System (Optional)
Important: There must be fresh water in the fresh water tank in order for the fresh water pump to
operate. Operating the pump with an empty tank could cause serious damage to the pump.
The freshwater system includes a cabin sink, cockpit shower, and a 10-gallon freshwater tank.
Fresh Water Cockpit Shower Faucet –Cold (Optional)
The fresh water cockpit shower faucet/nozzle is located just outside the transom
door behind a white cap/cover. Pull open the cap and pull out the faucet/shower
nozzle and hose. Press the lever on the nozzle to ensure proper operation (water
spraying). When you are finished, stow away the transom fresh water hose and
cover the outlet with the white cap.
See the section titled Fresh Water Pump for operating instructions before using
this shower.
Fresh Water Pump (Optional)
The fresh water pump is installed in a cut out area on top of the starboard stringer
and is accessible via the bilge hatch. Locate the fresh water pump switch (labeled
fresh water) on the switch panel and move the switch to the on position. Next go
to the transom and turn on the faucet/nozzle to verify that water is coming out of
the faucet/nozzle.
If the fresh water system is not in going to be in use, return to the switch panel
and turn the fresh water switch to the off position.
When you turn off the faucet in the cabin or the cockpit shower faucet, the pump
may run briefly. If the pump continues to run with all faucets closed, check the
system for leaks or have the pump tested. Note: The round filter attached to the
side of the washdown pump should be removed and cleaned often with running
water.
Note: If you should hear a sucking sound, you may have a leak on the inlet side of the fresh
water tank. There are 3 hoses connected at the front of the tank. The larger diameter hose at
the top is the water fill hose and the smaller diameter hose is the water vent hose. The hose at
the bottom of the tank is connected directly to the fresh water pump. Inspect the hoses for leaks
and make certain that the hose connections are secure.
