5. Complete the cut, wait for the torch air cycle to complete, then
turn the plasma cutter off.
PIERCING THE WORKPIECE
Create a hole or slot with the piercing technique.
1. Hold the torch tip at an angle above the spot in the
workpiece without touching the electrode to the work
piece. Use the standoff guide provided with the torch.
2. Press the torch trigger to ignite the plasma pilot arc. The arc
will form when the torch is close enough to the workpiece.
3. Rotate the torch slowly until it is at a 90 degree angle. Hold
until the sparks and debris spray downward.
4. Move the torch if creating a wide hole or slot.
5. Turn the plasma cutter off once the hole or slot is created.
CUTTING WITH THE STAND OFF GUIDE
The stand off guide’s arms are rounded to allow the torch to
rotate for piercing cut. The metal arm is also suitable for use
with a straight edge.
1. Install the stand off guide over the torch end. The two
guide arms must be parallel with the intended direction of
the cut. Do not put the electrode directly on the workpiece.
2. Rest the guide’s arms on the workpiece. This will leave a
consistent gap between the torch tip and the workpiece.
3. Turn on the torch switch to ignite the plasma pilot. Move
the torch along the workpiece, once the plasma has cut
through the material. Maintain an even speed.
4.
Complete the cut, wait for the torch air cycle to complete, then
turn the plasma cutter off
