3. Rotate the clutch knob (D) towards the front of the winch. The
word ‘FREESPOOL’ will be at the top of the clutch knob. This will
disengage the brake.
4. Pull out the cable by the hook strap (F) until you have the
desired length out.
4.1 Make sure there is always five turns of cable on the winch drum.
5. Attach the cable to the load with a hook, shackle, sling or chain
capable of withstanding the strain from winching the load. Make
sure the terminal tackle is secure to avoid an unintended
disconnection while winching.
5.1 Consult the vehicle owner’s manual for anchor points to
connect the cable’s terminal tackle to another vehicle or
your own vehicle.
6. Re-engage the clutch by twisting the clutch knob all the way to the
rear. The word ‘ENGAGED’ will be at the top of the clutch knob.
7. Check that the line is straight without kinks or twisted. Do not wrap
the cable around the load or wind it around corners or obstacles.
7.1 Place a chafe guard around the rope in a location where
contact with an abrasive surface is unavoidable.
8. Place a dampening device on the cable if you have one available.
9. Press and hold the control switch on the handlebar (G) for three
seconds to turn the winch on.
10. Press the retract side of the button until the slack is removed
from the cable.
11. Recheck the connections to ensure the terminal tackle will not shift.
11.1 Check the clutch is engaged. Do not rotate the clutch knob
when the winch is under load.
12. Set the vehicle’s transmission into neutral before activating the
winch if the vehicle is being pulled to the terminal tackle.
12.1 Set the parking brake and chock the vehicle’s wheels if the load
is being pulled to the vehicle. The transmission is still in neutral.
13. Press the switch to pull the load towards the winch. Press the
switch again to stop the winch when the load is in the final position
13.1 Secure the load in place if necessary. Use wheel chocks for
a vehicle.
