Setup:
1. Place the shredder securely on top of the wastebasket.
2. Plug the power cord into any standard 220-volt AC outlet.
3. Depress the Power Button. If the shredder head is installed correctly on the waste-
basket the Ready LED will light up.
4. If the Ready LED does not light up, the shredder head is not sitting correctly and the
shredder will not run.
Operating the shredder:
The
Piranha 110 CC +
is operated by using a single slider type switch located on the top
of the shredder. There are 3 positions –
AUTO
,
OFF
,
REV
.
1. Selecting
AUTO
will enable the shredder to operate automatically when paper is
inserted, by activating the trigger switch in the feed opening.
2. Selecting
OFF
prevents the shredder operating. This position is recommended when
the shredder is not in use.
3. Selecting
REV
causes the shredder to operate constantly in reverse. This is used to
help clear blockages.
Shredder capacity:
The
Piranha 110 CC +
will shred up to 10 sheets (80 gr/m
2
) paper and will accept
widths up to 220 mm. When shredding small material like envelopes or receipts, insert
them through the middle of the feeding opening.
Credit cards should only be inserted one at a time. CD & DVDs should only be inserted
into the CD slot for shredding. Shredding CDs & DVDs though the paper slot will
damage the cutters. Be careful not to place your
fi
ngers near the feed opening or else
serious harm could result.
Paper jams and motor overload situations:
The
Piranha 110 CC +
is equipped with a motor overload protection device and current
limiter circuit. The normal short duty cycle for continuous shredding at maximum capacity
is 2 minutes on and 20 minutes off. The power may terminate automatically in case of
the following abnormal situations.
1. Operating the shredder at the maximum 10 sheets (80 gr/m
2
) capacity continuously
for a prolonged period of time, e.g. more than 2 minute without stopping.
2. Exceeding the shredding capacity, e.g. inserting more than 10 sheets (80 gr/m
2
)
paper at one pass, or if the paper is not fed squarely into the feed opening.
