Audible Continuity Test
1. Connect the red test lead to the

terminal and the other (black) test lead

2. Set the rotary function selector to

3. Connect the test leads to the circuit to be measured. The buzzer will sound if the
resistance of the circuit measured is lower then 50

Diode Check
1. Set the rotary switch at
position.
2. Connect black test lead to
COM
terminal and red test lead to
V

terminal.
3. Connect test leads to the diode. Normally the forward voltage drop of good silicon
diode is shown between 0.5 V to 0.9V. If the diode under test is defective, "000"
(short circuit) or approximately 3.2V (non-conductance) is displayed. Reverse Check
of Diode: If the diode under test is good approximately 3.2V is displayed. If the diode
under test is defective "000" or other value are to be displayed.
NOTE:
Make sure that the display shows on DC Voltage mode not on AC
Voltage mode.

Measuring capacitance
1.
Plug the black lead into the
COM
jack and the red lead into the
V

jack.
2. Turn the function switch to "
".
3. Apply the probes to the capacitor whose capacitance you wish to measure.
4. To obtain a more accurate measurement you are advised to use the relative
mode (press REL button) to correct for any stray capacitances.
NOTE:
When measuring the capacitance of polarised capacitors be sure
to apply the probes with the correct polarity.
NOTE:
The capacitor must be fully discharged before any measurements
are made.
