E-mail Notification
Set up email notification to receive alerts and notices of important and critical events via email. See
trigger email notification” on page 96 for a summary of what conditions result in an email notification to be sent.
To configure email notification, from the VSky Home page, click on the
Configuration
menu tab, then click the
E-Mail Notification
button. Email notification must be setup for each individual node in a cluster.
Enter the following information:
E-mail Address List:
Type or paste email addresses
to receive notifications. Separate each address by a
comma.
E-Mail Sender
: Enter the email address from which
notifications originate.
SMTP Server Address
: IP address of the SMTP
server.
To make sure the VSky server has access to the
SMTP server by testing the configuration. Click the
Send
a test email ...
option below.
If authorization is required (normally it is), click to enable
Requires Authorization
, and enter the user account and
password below.
Accounts
: Enter the user account name for the email
sender address.
Password
: Enter the password for the sender email
account.
Click the
Send a test mail after saving the setting
option box and click the
Done
button. Then check the
receiver email account(s) to see if the message was received. If the notification fails, check IP settings and
network configuration to make sure VSky can access the SMTP server.

The table below provides a summary of the conditions or events that trigger an email notification. The events
that will trigger email notification are
OSD usage exceeds 85%, OSD down, OSD out
(includes if cluster node is
down), and
Cluster down
.
Note
Email notification is configured on each node individually.
