Troubles sometimes are caused by simple “faults” that you
can easily correct without the help of a service technician by
first checking a few basic remedies.
Before you call or take your unit to an Authorized
TV Servicenter, look below for the type of trouble you are
experiencing. Then perform the simple checks and
adjustments listed for that trouble.
TV will not turn on
l
Check to make sure it is plugged in.
l
Check the wall receptacle (or suitable power strip) to make
sure it is “live” by plugging in something else.
l
Maybe batteries in remote control are “dead’.
l
Maybe remote control was not aimed at remote sensor.
Controls do not work
l
If using master remote control, make sure remote is in “TV
Mode” by first pressing
T V
button.
l
Try unplugging set for 15 to 20 minutes and then turning it
on again.
Intermittent or no remote
l
Maybe something was between the remote and the remote
sensor.
l
Maybe the remote was not aimed directly at the component
(TV, VCR, cable box, etc.) you were trying to control.
l
Maybe master remote is not in “TV Mode”. Press the
button so master remote will control TV.
l
Maybe batteries in remote are weak or dead. Try replacing
batteries.
l
Maybe batteries were installed incorrectly. Try replacing
batteries correctly.
l
Check to see if remote is working by pressing any button on
the remote. If the remote is working, the power indicator on
the front of the TV will flicker when you press a button on
the remote.
Turns off while playing
l
SLEEP TIMER
function may have been activated.
l
SCHEDULER
function may have been activated.
l
Electronic protection circuit may have been activated
because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and then turn on
again. If this happens frequently, the voltage in your house
may be abnormally high.
Turns on unexpectedly
l
SCHEDULER
function may have been activated.
SCHEDULER
does not turn TV on and off at correct time
l
Check

functions. Make sure time (including am
or pm) and day of week are entered correctly.
