Attaching a Monitor
If you prefer to use a monitor or Flat Panel Display, connect it to the DVI-Out
port on the rear panel (see
“Rear View” on page 1 - 17
). You may need to use
a DVI to VGA converter.

Make sure you give the
displays enough time
to refresh.

Monitor Properties
Vertical Refresh Rate
The vertical refresh rate of
your VGA monitor is important.
If it is too low and/or you’re us-
ing fluorescent lighting, the
screen will appear to flicker. To
reduce flickering on a VGA
monitor, use faster refresh
rates (we recommend a re-
fresh rate of 72Hz or more).
But first check your VGA mon-
itor’s documentation to make
sure it can support the rates
listed by the video driver. The
default refresh rate for VGA
monitors (without drivers) is
60Hz.
