III. PRF-914B Micro Probe & PRV-913B Verifier Operations
A. PRF-912B Setup
1. Connect measurement cable to PRF-914B
a. Carefully attach one RG-174 cable SMA connector to the fixture’s (-)
Sense terminal.
b. Attach the second RG-174 cable SMA connector to the fixture’s (+)
Source terminal. (Figure 5).
NOTE
SMA connections are quite fragile. Carefully align the components
then rotate the threaded cap clock-wise to complete the connec
-
tion. Be especially careful not to cross-thread the connectors.
Tighten “finger tight” only
2.
Connect the (-) Sense cable’s BNC fitting to the
instrument Adapter’s (-) Sense terminal.
3.
Connect the (+) Source cable’s BNC to the
instrument Adapter’s (+) Source terminal
(Figure 6)
4.
Once the cables are installed and connected
to the Instrument Adapter, the PRF-914B is
ready for connection to a wide range ohmme
ter, continuity test, verification and use.
5.
Connect Instrument Adapter to a wide range,
resistance instrument with ¾ inch termi¬nal
spacing. The (+) Source plug of the Adapter
should be connected to the instrument’s Posi
tive (+) power terminal (figure 7)
6. Connect the Instrument Adapter ground plug to the instrument’s ground reference (Figure 8)
