e)
Do not attach chain graving disk or
circular-saw blade with gear to the
instrument.
These disks often cause
kickback and loss of control.
5.4 Supplementary safety
instructions for grinding
and cutting
Safety instructions speci
fi
c for grind-
ing and abrasive cutting activities
a)
Use those types of disks only which
are recommended by the manufac-
turer, and speci
fi
c protective guard
designed for selected disk.
Those disks
which the electromechanical instrument
was not designed for, cannot be covered
properly and are dangerous.
b)
Protective guard must be safely
fi
xed
to the electromechanical tool and
placed in correct position to achieve
maximum safety, so that only as
small part of the disk as possible was
uncovered, in the direction towards
the user.
Protective guard helps to pro-
tect the user against fragments of the disk
and accidental contact with the disk.
c)
Disks must be only used in recom-
mended applications, for instance:
do not grind using the lateral face of
the cutting disk.
Abrasive cutting disks
are designed for peripheral cutting, side
forces acting on these disks may frac-
tionalize them.
d)
Always use undamaged disk
fl
anges
of correct size and shape for the disk
you selected.
Correct disk
fl
anges sup-
port the disk and thus reduce the risk of
disk cracking. Flanges for cutting may
differ from the
fl
anges after grinding.
e)
Do not use worm disks of originally
bigger dimensions for bigger elec-
tromechanical tools.
Disks designed
for bigger electromechanical instruments
are not suitable for higher rpm of smaller
tools and may crack.
5.5 Additional safety instructions
for surface grinding
Safety warnings speci
fi
c for surface
grinding activities
a)
Do not use excessively big abrasive
paper for abrasive disc. In selection
of abrasive paper adhere to the rec-
ommendation of the manufacturer.
Large abrasive paper, overlapping the
abrasive board, represents a risk of rip
and may cause jamming, ripping of the
disk and kickback.
5.6 Additional safety instructions
for grinding with wire brush
Safety warnings speci
fi
c for grinding
with wire brush
a)
Be aware that even during common
working activity wire bristles are
thrown off the brush. Do not overload
the wires by excessive loading of the
brush.
Wire bristles may easily penetrate
through thin clothes and/or skin.
b)
If use of protective guard is recom-
mended for grinding with wire brush,
make sure there is no contact between
the wire disc or the brush and the pro-
tective guard.
The wire disk or brush may
enlarge its diameter during operation, due
to load and centrifugal forces.
5.7 Turner safety instructions
►
The machine may not be used in damp
and wet spaces, outdoor when it is rainy,
foggy or snowy or in the explosive envi-
ronment.
►
Before use always inspect the
fl
exible
lead and the plug. Have the defects re-
paired by a specialist repair shop.
►
Outside the premise use only approved
extension leads and cable connections.
►
Apply the machine to the material only
when switched on.
►
Do not carry the machine by the lead.
►
Do not work on a ladder.
►
When operating the tool, use protective
gloves and tough footwear.
►
When operating the tool, use goggles and
ear protectors.
►
The dust generated during work is harm-
ful to health. When operating the tool,
use the dust extraction system and the
respirator.
►
Materials containing asbestos are not al-
lowed to mill.
►
Flexible power supply cable always route
from the tool backwards.
