Lead-acid rechargeable battery
ALI 3.572
A rechargeable block battery can be used in place of the six "C" cells.
The 8-volt lead-acid battery has a capacity of 1.1 Ah (which is
adequate for 9 hours of operation under normal operating condi-
tions; exact duration will vary with your particular usage pattern).
The battery is charged by connecting the AC power supply to the
computer for 5 hours (see "Mains adapter/charger" below). The lead-
acid battery fits in the same compartment as the six "C" cells. Note,
the lead-acid battery has a longer life if kept charged and should not
be left for periods of time uncharged.
Mains adapter/charger
ALI 3.576
The 110/220VAC (switchable) power supply/charger is attached to
the computer as shown below. It provides 400 mA of current at
12 volts. When properly connected, the LED marked "CHARGE"
above the computer display is illuminated. The supply/charger may
be left connected to the computer indefinitely (also when batteries
are installed) with no danger of damage. If a lead-acid rechargeable
battery is fitted, the supply/charger will simultaneously run the
computer and recharge the battery (the lead-acid battery recharges
in 5 hours). Charging continues also when the computer is switched
off. The ALI 3.576 charger can be used to charge either one
ROTALIGN computer or two ALI 4.610 external receiver batteries
—
but not the computer and one battery at the same time.
ROTALIGN Beam Deflector
ALI 3.579
To simplify and improve accuracy of the machine dimensioning
process, PRÜFTECHNIK offers a beam deflector. This simple device
attaches to the receiver and, by means of a mirror, directs the
incident laser beam 90°. By positioning the device so that the beam is
reflected downwards onto the floor, a precise point of reference is
created for measuring the receiver to front distance.
When the beam deflector is used a corrective value (50 mm / 2")
must be subtracted to compensate for the distance between the point
of reflectance inside the deflector and the white marking on the
receiver housing. The reflected beam is to be used only for measuring
machine dimensions.
