ROTALIGN 01.2000
Below follows an explanation of each measurement mode:
CONTINUOUS SWEEP
This is the simplest procedure for horizontal measurement and is the
default method in "Q
UICK
C
HECK
" (page 4-3), basic horizontal align-
ment (page 4-8) and horizontal alignment with two-bolt flanges
(page 5-13). Please see these pages for details.
To start the "Continuous Sweep" procedure, press START. Then
slowly rotate the shafts through 360° in either direction (or as far as
possible). Press STOP when finished.
You can select and deactivate "rogue" points with the arrow softkey
and "
–
" softkey (see page 4-41 for details).
Display of alignment values at coupling
The offset and angularity in horizontal and vertical directions are
now calculated and displayed.
Horizontal machine alignment - measurement
Coupling gap
of 0.06 mm,
open upwards
Right machine offset
at coupling
0.55 mm, away
from viewer
HORIZONTAL
Shows extent of
rotation (180° in
this case)
Right machine offset
at coupling 0.21 mm,
downwards
VERTICAL
No. of pts
measured
Coupling gap of
0.18 mm, open
towards viewer
CENTERED!
Indicates "Continu-
ous Sweep" mode
118
indicates angle is too
small or too few
points. Remeasure!
See page 4-33 for
details
The coupling symbols and the signs of the values indicate the
direction of misalignment.
RULE
•
Positive values are upwards or away from viewer
•
Negative values are downwards or toward viewer
The values displayed in the Measurement screen are the absolute
values and are not corrected for thermal growth or targets. These
values refer to the right-hand machine. The Results screen,
discussed on page 4-49, gives corrected values. horizontal and
vertical directions are now calculated and displayed:
