The modifications involve:
•
Use of a soldering iron
•
Disassembly and re-assembly of the Einsy box
•
Connecting to the printer’s power supply
A wide range of things can go wrong if care is not taken, for example:
•
Inserting screws that are too long can obstruct the head movement and
potentially damage the printer.
•
Incorrectly installing and fitting a power supply can cause short circuits, and
potentially damage the printer or cause fire.
•
Use of tools can cause cuts / burns etc.
•
Use of inappropriate wire types can cause shorts, potentially damaging the
printer, or cause fire.
•
This is a non-exhaustive list!
Whilst I believe I have recorded everything I have done in the modification of my
printer, it is possible that I have made mistakes, or have written something that,
although it is clear to me, may not be clear to the reader.
Please consider this document a guide / starting point for your own project. No
responsibility can be taken for errors or misinterpretations etc.
