16. Configuring the OctoPi Software
1. Connect to the Octopi with a web browser (go to
)
2. Run through the configuration wizard.
3. Configure the Printer:
Name: Prusa i3 MK3
Model: Prusa i3 MK3
Origin: Lower Left
Width: 250, Depth: 210, Height: 210
Axes X: 6000, Y: 6000, Z: 200, E: 300
Temp ABS: 255, 100
Temp PLA: 215, 60
Temp HIPS: 220, 100
Temp PP: 254, 100
Temp PET: 230, 85
Temp FLEX: 240, 50
4. Perform a software update
5. Install the following plugins:
iponconnect – used to allow the printer to report the IP details
octolapse – recommended but not required
fullscreen – recommended but not required
gpioshutdown – recommended for soft reset but not required
6. Connect to the Printer, by pressing connect, and you will be connected to the
printer via either the GPIO or the USB (whichever you have decided to use).
Note: The GPIO will appear as /dev/ttyS0, and the USB cable will appear as
/dev/ttyAM0.
