14.1. FEP film / Tank bottom replacement
The FEP film that serves as the bottom of the resin tank
is a consumable.
This means its quality
will decrease over time - this is intended behaviour. The FEP films used in the SL1S are non-
proprietary, which means you can purchase the material anywhere you want. The only thing you
need is to prepare a template for the screw holes, which you can download from our Original-
Prusa-SL1 project at
. You can, of course,
buy ready-made FEP films from
our e-shop.
The process of replacing a damaged FEP film is described in our Knowledge base at
.
An extreme case of FEP film damage
If you replace the FEP film, re-calibrate the printer!
14.2. Replacing the print screen
The print (exposure) display is a consumable and it will degrade over time.
When you start
noticing visible artifacts on your prints
(e.g. missing parts, randomly cured resin in various parts
of the tank), it is usually time to
replace the LCD module.
Before you do that, make sure to
go
through the troubleshooting steps
described in this handbook to ensure that the issues are not
caused by something else (e.g. dirty FEP foil, incorrectly calibrated printer etc.). You can order a
new exposure display from our e-shop at
