Long exposure times will result in a “staircase” effect - the layers won’t blend into each other
perfectly and some details may be lost due to this effect.
Use recommended exposure time
values
to fix this issue.
15.5. Printed object detached from supports
If the printed object detaches from supports mid-print, it usually falls into the resin tank, while the
supports are still attached to the print platform. It’s usually caused by
a combination of the
printed object’s weight and insufficient supports.
Another possibility is that you are printing a
hollow object without drainage holes - this creates suction on the bottom of the tank and the
object cannot detach properly.
Consider using PrusaSlicer
to hollow out the object. Too heavy (solid) objects may be too much
for default supports and as a result, they often detach from supports once they reach a certain
weight threshold.
Solution:
Increase the number of supports or the thickness of supports. Check the exposure times
and change them to recommended values. Use a slower print profile - when you select the object
to print in your SL1S file browser, you can then open the Print Settings menu and switch the Print
profile to the slower (safer) option.
15.6. Broken supports
Broken supports (or missing parts of supports) are usually caused by
incorrect settings in
PrusaSlicer
- the supports are either too thin or the exposure time is set to too low value. In some
cases, this can be also caused by a faulty UV LED panel or dirty FEP film.
