Prima di collegare il sistema di alimentazione elettrica si prega di leggere attentamente le seguenti avvertenze. Conservare le istruzioni per la consultazione futura. Il sistema di alimentazione elettrica
deve essere installato solo da personale competente e qualificato. In caso di intervento del fusibile interno, molto probabilmente l'apparecchio è guasto. Se durante il funzionamento si verificano
anomalie o guasti, scollegare immediatamente la tensione di alimentazione. In entrambi i casi è necessario far controllare l'apparecchio dal produttore! E' necessario sostituire le batterie con regolarità e
quando il test sul DC-UPS indica "Replace Battery". I cicli d'intervallo si trovano sul data sheet del DC-UPS. I dati sono indicati solo a scopo descrittivo del prodotto e non vanno considerati come

Uso previsto: Questo apparecchio è previsto per il montaggio in un rack per moduli elettronici, ad esempio per controllori industriali, apparecchiature per ufficio, unità di comunicazione o apparecchi di
misura. Non utilizzare questo apparecchio in apparati o impianti dove il malfunzionamento può causare danni alla persona o pericolo di vita.
Il mancato rispetto delle seguenti norme può provocare

È necessario ridurre la potenza di uscita se:
(1) Prima di eseguire interventi di installazione, di manutenzione o di modifica scollegare la tensione di
rete ed adottare tutti i provvedimenti necessari per impedirne il ricollegamento non intenzionale.
Disconnettere il fusibile della batteria prima di agire sulla batteria o sull' DC-UPS.
(2) Assicurare un cablaggio regolare e corretto, secondo le indicazioni locali ed internazionali.

(4) Impedire la penetrazione di corpi estranei nell'apparecchio, ad esempio fermagli o altri oggetti
metallici.
(5) Non far funzionare l'apparecchio in un ambiente umido.
(6) Non far funzionare l'apparecchio in un ambiente soggetto alla formazione di condensa o di rugiada.
(7) Affidare le batterie esauste a una societ à specializzata nel riciclo. Le batterie devono essere
completamente esaurite prima del riciclaggio.

(2) il funzionamento è a pieno carico a temperatura ambiente maggiore di +60°C;
(3) è ostacolata la libera circolazione dell'aria.

Recomendamos a leitura cuidadosa das seguintes advertências e observações, antes de colocar em funcionamento a fonte de alimentação. Guarde as Instruções para futura consulta, em casos de
dúvida. A fonte de alimentação deverá ser instalada apenas por profissionais da área, tecnicamente qualificados. Se o fusível interno se fundir, é grande a possibilidade de existir um defeito no
aparelho. Se por acaso, durante a utilização ocorrer algum defeito de funcionamento ou dano, desligue imediatamente a tensão de alimentação. Em ambos os casos, será necessária uma verificação
na Fábrica! A bateria necessita ser substituída, por outrsa nova, sempre que o DC-UPS indicar “Replace Battery”. O intervalo de tempo para substituição da mesma pode ser encontrado nas
características técnicas. Os dados mencionados têm como finalidade somente a descrição do produto, e não devem ser interpretados como propriedades garantidas no sentido jurídico. Em caso de
duvidas aplica-se o texto em inglês.
Utilize: Apenas para o fim pré-estabelecido. Este aparelho foi concebido para ser montado dentro de invólucros, caixas ou armários para aparelhos eletrônicos em geral, como, por exemplo, comandos
de instalações industriais, aparelhos para escritórios, aparelhos de comunicação ou instrumentos de medida e quadros eléctricos. Não utilize este aparelho em instalações, nos quais um defeito de
funcionamento poderá causar danos graves ou significar risco de morte.
A não observância ou o incumprimento dos pontos a seguir

Será necessário reduzir a potência de saída nos seguintes casos:
(1) Antes de trabalhos de instalação, manutenção ou modificação, desligue a tensão de alimentação,
protegendo-a contra uma nova ligação involuntária! Desligar o fusível antes de mexer na bateria ou

DC-UPS.
(2) Confirmar se as ligações estão correctas, segundo as indicações normativas.
(3) Não efectue nenhuma modificação ou tentativa de reparação no aparelho. Quando necessário
contacte o seu distribuidor.
(4) Proteger a fonte de alimentação contra a introdução inadvertida de corpos metálicos, como por ex.
clipes ou outras peças de metal.
(5) Não usar o aparelho em ambientes húmidos.
(6) Não usar o aparelho em ambientes propensos a condensações.
(7) Entregue as baterias usadas e/ou danificadas num centro de reciclagem. As baterias devem ser
entregues, completamente descarregadas.
(1) Quando não forem observadas as distâncias mínimas de montagem.
(2) Existencia de temperatura ambiente superior a +60ºC, em plena carga do aparelho.
(3) Montagem em ambiente sem ventilação.

Product Description
The DIMENSION UBC10-Series offer DIN-rail DC-UPS which bridge power outages for minutes
by utilizing only one 12V battery for a 24V output. The UBC10.241 has one integrated 5Ah high-
current battery, while the UBC10.241-N1 is the DC-UPS control unit with the battery not
assembled.
Gerätebeschreibung
Die DC-USVs der DIMENSION UBC10-Serie dienen zur Überbrückung von Netzausfällen im
Minutenbereich, hierfür wird nur eine 12V Batterie benötigt. Das UBC10.241 hat eine integrierte
5Ah Hochstrombatterie, bei dem UBC10.241-N1 muss diese noch bestückt werden.
Installation
Use DIN-rails according to EN 60715 or EN 50022 with a height of 7.5 or 15mm. The unit is
convection cooled. Do not obstruct air flow! Ventilation grid must be kept free of any obstructions.
The following installation clearances must be kept when units are permanently fully loaded:
Left / right: 5mm (15mm in case the adjacent device is a heat source)
40mm on top, 20mm on the bottom of the unit.
Connect the power supply to the input terminals of the DC-UPS.
Disconnect the fuse on the front of the DC-UPS before working on the unit or on the battery.
UBC10.241-N1: Install a battery (e.g. UZB12.051), which fulfills the given requirements in the table
above. Therefore loosen the screw on the front and lift up the battery cover.
Connect the buffered load to the output terminals of the DC-UPS. The output is decoupled from
the input allowing load circuits to be easily split into buffered and non buffered sections. Non-
critical loads can be connected directly to the power supply and will not be buffered. The energy in
the battery will be used in the circuits which require buffering.
Set the buffer time limiter to an appropriate value.
Install the fuse when the wiring is finished. Red LED on the DC-UPS should turn off.
The input must be powered from a SELV source (according to IEC 60950-1), a PELV source
(according to IEC 62477-1) or an Isolated Secondary Circuit (according to UL 508).
Use in hazardous location areas
Units which are marked with "Class I Div 2" are suitable for use in Class I Division 2 Groups A, B,
C, D locations.
Units which are marked with
II 3G Ex nA nC IIC T3 Gc are suitable for use in Group II
Category 3 (Zone 2) environments and are evaluated according to EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-15.
WARNING EXPLOSION HAZARDS!
Substitution of components may impair suitability for this environment. Do not disconnect the unit,
change unit settings or remove or insert the fuse unless power has been switched off or the area is
known to be non-hazardous.
Do not use batteries other than the original batteries supplied by PULS (UZB12.051) or batteries,
which are approved according to EN/ IEC 60079-7.
A suitable enclosure must be provided for the end product which has a minimum protection of IP54
and fulfils the requirements of the EN 60079-15. Sufficient ventilation must be ensured in the final
installation.
Installation
Geeignet zur Montage an DIN-Schienen entsprechend EN 60715 oder EN 50022 mit einer Höhe
von 7,5 oder 15mm. Das Gerät ist für Konvektionskühlung ausgelegt. Es ist für eine ungehinderte
Luftzirkulation zu sorgen. Folgende Einbauabstände sind bei dauerhafter Volllast einzuhalten:
Links / rechts: 5mm (15mm bei benachbarten Wärmequellen)
Oben: 40mm, unten 20mm vom Gerät.
Schließen Sie die Stromversorgung and die “Input” Klemmen der DC-USV an.
Ziehen Sie die Sicherung an der Front des Gerätes heraus, bevor Sie die Batterie anschließen
oder Installationsarbeiten durchführen. UBC10.241-N1: Setzen Sie eine Batterie ein, die den
oben in der Tabelle gegebenen Anforderungen entspricht (z.B. UZB12.051). Öffnen Sie hierzu
die Schraube an der Front und klappen Sie die Batterieabdeckung nach oben.
Schließen Sie die zu puffernde Last an die „Output“ Klemmen an. Der Ausgang ist vom Eingang
entkoppelt. So kann man Lasten in gepufferte und ungepufferte Zweige aufteilen. Unkritische
Lasten können ungepuffert direkt an die Stromversorgung angeschlossen werden. So wird die
Energie der Batterie nur für zu puffernde Lasten verwendet.
Stellen Sie am "Buffer-Time-Limiter" (Pufferzeit-Begrenzer) den entsprechenden Wert ein.
Stecken Sie die Sicherung ein, wenn alle Arbeiten an der Batterie oder DC-USV beendet sind.
Nach dem Einschalten muss die rote LED erlöschen.
Der Eingang muss von einer Spannungsquelle versorgt werden, welche entweder den SELV
(gemäß IEC 60950-1), PELV (gemäß IEC 62477-1) oder den „Isolated Secondary Circuit“
(gemäß UL 508) Anforderungen genügen.
Betrieb in explosionsgefährdeter Umgebung
Geräte, die mit "Class I Div 2" gekennzeichnet sind, sind für den Einsatz in Klasse I Division 2
Gruppen A,B,C,D Umgebung geeignet.
Geräte, die mit
II 3G Ex nA nC IIC T3 Gc, gekennzeichnet sind, sind nach EN 60079-0 und
EN 60079-15 getestet und kann in Gruppe II, Kategorie 3 (Zone 2) Umgebungen verwendet
werden.
ACHTUNG EXPLOSIONSGEFAHR!
Veränderungen am Gerät können die Tauglichkeit für diese Umgebung beeinträchtigen.
Anschlüsse nicht abklemmen, Geräteeinstellung nicht verändern und Sicherung nicht einsetzen
oder entfernen solange Spannung anliegt oder die Umgebung als explosionsgefährlich gilt.
Nur Originalbatterien von PULS verwenden (z. B. UZB12.051) oder Batterien, welche nach EN/
IEC 60079-7 zugelassen sind.
Das Gerät muss mindestens in ein IP54 Gehäuse, welches den Anforderungen der EN 60079-15
entspricht, eingebaut werden. Für ausreichende Belüftung ist in der Endanwendung zu sorgen.
