depth of about 1”. The rear rail supports
and firewall are installed for reference.
The cavity is not centered on the fuse
centerline.
6. Cut away the inside, front edge of the
nose wheel retract rails. The cut out
measures 1/8” wide and 1/2” long.
Temporarily Install the rails, then insert
the retract unit. The 3” tire should be
about 5/8” - 3/4” from the back of the
wheel well cavity.
Move the rear rail supports up or down
until the tire sits just below the cavity
walls. There will be a slight angle to the
rails as shown below.
After adjusting the height of the retract,
if there is any portion of the rear rail
supports that extend above the fuse,
trim these areas away. You will also
need to remove some of the engine
plate to allow the retract’s down lock link
to extend. Test the retract’s movement
to ensure there is no interference.
7. Tape the retract unit to the rails as
shown. Then prop the fuse upright.
8. Temporarily place the firewall on the
fuse along with the top keys and engine
mounting plate. Attach the lower cowl.
