IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read this instruction manual thoroughly before using the appliance. It contains important
information for your safety as well as operating and maintenance advice.
2. Observe all safety instructions to avoid damage through improper use. Follow all warnings
on the appliance.
3. Keep this instruction manual for future use. Should this appliance be passed on to a third
party, then this instruction manual must be included.
4. No liability will be accepted for damage resulting from improper use or non-compliance with
these instructions.
5. The appliance is not suitable for commercial use. This appliance is only suitable for domestic
use.
6. Before plugging in the appliance, check that the mains supply voltage and rating corresponds
with the power supply details shown on the appliance rating label.
7. Do not use the appliance if damaged. Unplug the appliance and contact your supplier.
8. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Repairs must be carried out by qualified and
authorised personnel only.
9. Avoid damage to the cord. Do not allow the cord to bend. Protect it from sharp edges, hot
surfaces and naked flames.
10. Ensure the cord is placed as not to present a tripping hazard.
11. If an extension cord is used, ensure its capacity is suitable for the power consumed by the
appliance.
12. To protect against electric shock do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Do
not hold the appliance under running water.
13. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or while standing on a wet floor. Do not touch
the power plug with wet hands.
14. Do not open the appliance casing under any circumstances. Do not insert any foreign objects
into the inside of the casing.
15. Never use accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They could pose
a safety risk to the user and might damage the appliance. Only use original parts and
accessories.
16. Do not place the appliance on a hot surface. Always operate the appliance on a level,
stable, clean and dry surface. Protect the appliance against naked flame, dust, direct
sunlight, excess moisture, dripping and splashing water.
17. Do not place heavy objects on top of the appliance. Do not place objects with open flames,
e.g. candles, on top of or beside the appliance. Do not place objects filled with water, e.g.
vases, on or near the appliance.
18. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
19. Check the power plug and power cord regularly for damage or signs of wear and tear. If
the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a danger or injury.
20. Do not pull the plug out of the power socket by the power cord. Do not wrap the power cord
around the appliance. Use the cord storage device at the bottom of the appliance.
21. Connect the plug to an easily reachable power socket so that in case of an emergency
the appliance can be unplugged quickly. Pull the power plug out of the power socket to
completely switch off the appliance. Use the power plug as the disconnection device.
22. Disconnect the power plug from the power socket when not in use and before cleaning.
23. Always turn the appliance off before disconnecting the power plug.

8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervisor or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Children shall
not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of
children less than 8 years.
• Appliances are not intended to be operated by
means of an external timer or separate remote-
control system.
• Clean the appliance housing with a damp cloth
and a little mild detergent. Let it dry completely.
• Remove the crumb tray from the bottom of
appliance and dispose the crumbs.
• The outer surface may get hot when the
appliance is operating.
• Fire hazard! Bread may burn!
The
appliance should not be used near or below
easily combustible materials, for example
curtains, textiles, etc. Always ensure the
appliance is placed a safe distance from any
flammable materials.
