Logging In to the Switch
To log in to a switch through Telnet, do the following:
1.
Open a command line window on the workstation and enter the Telnet
command followed by the switch IP address. The IP address can be one of
the following:
4-byte IP version 4 address
16-byte IP version 6 address
Domain Name System (DNS) host name (requires a DNS server)
The Telnet window opens prompting you for a login.
# telnet
ip_address

Enter an account name and password. The default account name is
admin
,
and its password is
password
.
switch login:admin
password: xxxxxxxx
The following warning appears when you log in for the first time:
Warning: Your user account password has not been changed
It is strongly recommended that you do so before
proceeding
To log off, enter the Exit command:
SANbox #> exit
To log in to a switch through the serial port, do the following:
1.
Configure the workstation port with the following settings:
9600 baud
8-bit character
1 stop bit
No parity
2.
Enter an account name and password when prompted. The default account
name is
admin
, and its password is
password
.
