Firmware Install Command
Downloads firmware from a remote host to the switch, installs the firmware, then
resets the switch (without a power-on self test) to activate the firmware. This reset
is disruptive. To perform a non-disruptive firmware installation, refer to the
”Image
Command” on page A-37
.
The command prompts you for the following:
IP address of the remote host
An account name and password on the remote host
Pathname for the firmware image file
Authority
Admin
Syntax
firmware install
Examples
The following is an example of the Firmware Install command:
SANbox (admin) #> firmware install
Warning: Installing new firmware requires a switch reset.
Continuing with this action will terminate all management sessions,
including any Telnet sessions. When the firmware activation is complete,
you may log in to the switch again.

Press 'q' and the ENTER key to abort this command.
