Port Speeds
SFP ports are capable of transmitting and receiving at 2Gbps, 4Gbps, or 8Gbps.
XPAK ports are capable of transmitting and receiving at 10Gbps or 20Gbps. All
ports can be configured for either a fixed transmission speed or to sense
(auto-detect) the transmission speed of the device to which it is connected. To
display the speed of each port, on the
View
menu, click
View Port Speeds
.
To change the port transmission speed, do the following:
1.
Select one or more SFP ports on the faceplate display.
2.
On the
Port
menu, click
Port Properties
to view the Port Properties dialog
box.
3.
Select the
Port Speed
option from the drop-down list.
4.
Click
OK
to write the new port speed to the switch.
lists the possible port speeds.
NOTE:
8Gbps SFPs do not support 1Gbps speed. You should not set the port speed
to 1Gbps if an 8Gbps SFP is inserted, as the port will be downed if you do.
