SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager user interface does not
find or show any HBAs.
Cause:
An iSCSI HBA is not installed.
Solution:
Install a QLogic QLA4
xxx
HBA.
Cause:
The current QLogic iSCSI driver is out of date and does not
support the installed newer-generation iSCSI card. This is common with
drivers that are shipped with the operating system.
Solution:
Download the latest version of the QLogic iSCSI driver for
our operating system from the QLogic Web site at
www.qlogic.com
.
Cause:
The current version of SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager is out of
date and does not support the newer generation iSCSI card installed.
Solution:
Download the latest version of SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager from the QLogic Web site at
www.qlogic.com
.
Cause:
An iSCSI HBA driver is not installed or an incorrect HBA driver
is installed.
Solution:
Verify that the iSCSI HBA driver is installed (see
“Verifying That the
HBA Driver is Installed” on page 7-12
).
Verify that the appropriate operating system driver is loaded. Refer
to the
readme.txt
file for supported operating system drivers.
Verify that the iqlremote agent is running on the local or remote host.
Check agent logs for any problems while querying information (see
“Using Debug to Trace User Interface and Agent Activity” on
page 7-14
).
SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager user interface does not
find or display any devices.
Cause:
The devices were not configured and saved using the SAN-
surfer iSCSI HBA Manager user interface nor
Fast!
UTIL.
Solution:

using the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager user interface, see the help

.
SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Man-
ager user interface reports
that the HBA device driver is
invalid or incorrect.
Cause:
An incorrect or unsupported operating system driver is
installed.
Solution:
Refer to the
readme.txt
file for a list of supported operat-
ing system drivers.
Unable to find SANsurfer
iSCSI HBA Manager user
interface help system.
Cause:
The path to the browser is not correctly specified.
Solution:
In the SANsurfer iSCSI HBA Manager main window
Help
menu, click
Set Browser Location
to specify the path (see
“Specifying
the Help Browser” on page 5-9
). See
“Software Requirements” on
page 3-5
for supported browsers.
