Chapter 3 — Changing Printer Ribbons
30
Upon startup, and every time you close the printer cover, the
ColorScript 310/330 printer winds the printer ribbon to the start
of the next color set. When using monochrome ribbon, which is
one continuous band of black dye, you will need to disable the
ribbon advance feature by manually setting the printer to
monochrome mode before you close the printer cover. See
“Printing in Monochrome Mode” on Page 35.
NOTE:
If you often switch from one ribbon type to another,
consider purchasing extra ribbon cassettes so you can quickly change
ribbons without removing them from their cassettes.
Removing the Ribbon Cassette
WARNING:
If this is the printer’s first dye ribbon installation,
make sure that you remove all packing materials from inside the
printer. See “Unpacking the Printer” on Page 2 for complete
unpacking instructions.
To remove a spent ribbon, or to install the printer’s first ribbon:
1.
Open the top cover of the printer by pulling the recessed
locking switch toward the front of the printer.
The cover will pop up slightly. Gently lift the cover until it
stops.
