Use the external storage mode (USB 2.0 host mode)

Connect an external storage device* to the NMP-1000 by USB 2.0 host
interface.

The NMP-1000 detects the external disk automatically**.

Play the contents from the external storage device.
*If there are multiple partitions on the external storage device, the NMP-1000
recognizes the first two partitions only.
** The external disk will not be detected if you have used up all 6 available remote
disk connections, see Section 4.1.1 for more information. You can disconnect
one or two remote disks temporarily, so that your external storages can be
detected automatically.

If you have a hard drive installed on the NMP-1000, you can copy the media
contents from the external storage into your local disk. See Section 8.3 for
more information.
