If the hearth extension is lower than the fireplace opening,
the portion of the insert extending onto the hearth must be
supported.
•
Manufacturer designed adjustable support kit can be
ordered from your dealer.
NOTE: Refer to chimney liner manufacturer for recom-
mendations on supporting the liner. Installation
into fireplaces without a permit will void the listing.

•
The firebrick (refractory), glass doors, screen rails,
screen mesh and log grates can be removed from a fac-
tory-built firebox in order to gain minimum insert open
-
ing requirements.
• Any smoke shelves, shields and baffles may be removed
from a factory-built firebox
if attached with mechanical
fasteners.
• The metal floor of the factory-built firebox may be
removed to facilitate the installation of the insert only
when a 1 inch (25mm) airspace is provided between the
insert and the floor of outer wrap.
The following is only one example as there are many differ-
ent models of factory-built fireplaces.
NOTE: This example is for reference only. Any modifica
-
tions must not compromise the structural integrity
or reduce the protection for combustible materials.
