GOLD OR NICKEL FASCIA - CARE AND TREATMENT
WARNING!
You must clean all the fingerprints and oils from gold or nickel surface
prior to firing the fireplace for the first time.
Use a glass cleaner or vinegar and a very soft towel to remove the oils. If gold or nickel
fascia is not cleaned properly prior to lighting the first fire, the oils remaining from fingerprints
can cause permanent markings on the gold plating. After the plating is cured, the oils will not
affect the finish and regular maintenance can be provided using glass cleaner and a very soft
cloth as needed.
