Attach an optical cable to the Fibre Channel connectors on each tape drive.

Connect the HBA, as follows:
a.
Route an optical cable through the appropriate slot on the back of the system
controller.
b.
Attach the cable to a port on a Fibre Channel HBA If multiple SCSI and
Fibre Channel HBAs are installed the SCSI HBAs must be installed in the
left slot(s) first, next to the CAN bus controller card, then followed by any
Fibre Channel HBAs.
3.
Connect the other ends of the optical cables to the appropriate Fibre Channel
hubs or switches.
4.
As an option, the fibre channel cables attached to the tape drives may be
attached to the three included cable routing brackets to route the cables
downward. If brackets are required to route the cables upward, please contact
Qualstar Technical Support and request part number 521301-04-4.

The brackets are designed to be installed one row below the tape drives on
the left side of the drive bay. Using a Phillips screwdriver remove the two
screws securing the the drive bay then place a bracket over the holes and
secure it with the screws. Repeat for each bracket being installed. See

Be sure to connect the cable to the HBA port you
specified when creating the logical library (see
Figure 8-5
