Procedure:
1. Choose the
Host Configuration
as either Automatic or
Manual.
2. Enter the
Host Name
in the given field if you have chosen
Manual Configuration.
3. Under
Register BMC
,
Check the option
Register BMC
to register with this
DNS settings.
4. In the
Domain name Configuration Settings
,
Select the domain settings from the dropdown list.
Enter the
Domain Name
in the given field.
5. In the
Domain Name Server Configuration
,
Select the DNS Server Settings, from the dropdown list.
In the IP Priority, IPV4 or IPV6 as a top priority.
In the DNS Server1/DNS Server2/DNS Server3 field,
If the DNS Server Settings is setting to Manual mode, user
needs to fill those fields with DNS IP address manually
according to IPv4 or IPv6 format. Otherwise, if it is in non-
Manual mode, DNS server IP address is assigned by DHCP
server.
6. Click
Save
to save the entries.
7. Click
Reset
to reset the entries.
LDAP/E-Directory
The
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
is an
application protocol for querying and modifying data of directory
services implemented in Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
In MegaRAC GUI, LDAP is an Internet protocol that Mega-
RAC
®
card can use to authenticate users. If you have an LDAP
server configured on your network, you can use it as an easy
DNS Server1, DNS
Server2 and DNS
Server3
Specify the DNS (Domain Name System) server
address to be configured for the BMC.
IPv4 Address made of 4 numbers separated
by dots as in "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx".
Each number ranges from 0 to 255.
First number must not be 0.
DNS Server Address will support the following:
IPv4 Address format.
IPv6 Address format.
Save
To save the entered changes.
Reset
To reset the entered changes.
Note:
Under Automatic, a Host Name is not necessary but under
Manual, a Host Name is not.
