The end of a
Delta Time
must not occur at the same time as a GPS fix. During a
GPS fix the activity sensor stops measuring movement and is unable to record the
logged activity data into memory.
•
The battery life calculation in repeat mode does not fully support the
accelerometer feature. To get an accurate battery life calculation program the GPS
in template mode.
6.5b Programming your activity sensor
Turn on your activity sensor
1.
Open the Motion software.
2.
Plug your GPS unit to your PC or laptop with the USB cable supplied.
3.
Press Go ONLINE.
4.
Check the box next to Activity sensor
ENGINE ON/OFF. A real time graph
displaying the movements of the activity
sensor will open.
5.
Using the drop down menus, enter your
desired settings (seen on the right side of
the illustration above). Note: The
current settings are displayed in the description for each field, seen on the left half
of the illustration above.
6.
Press set next to every field you changed.
7.
Press Go Offline and close the Motion software.
8.
If you are ready to deploy, you must now set time in the collar SW software. If
you have already programmed the GPS that is fine but you must set time again.
Note
: The activity sensor will not store data if the GPS is not programmed to attempt
fixes.
9.
Unplug the USB cable from your GPS unit. It will not record activity data until
the USB cable is unplugged.
Use your activity sensor in repeat mode
1.
Program the activity sensor using the Motion software, see

Program your collar in repeat mode, see

3.
After you unplug the USB cable from the collar there is a 3 minute delay before
the activity sensor begins to work. After the 3 minute delay, except for the times
at which the GPS unit is attempting to acquire GPS satellites and when the unit is
connected wirelessly to the base station, the activity sensor will always be on.
