cnt_threshold
This represents the number of instances within a delta time period in which the
movements were greater than the amplitude threshold. The maximum output, for
example, if the delta time is two seconds and the sample rate is 1 time per second then the
maximum cnt_threshold output is 2. Likewise if the delta time period is 10 seconds and
the sample rate is 4 times per second then the maximum cnt_threshold output is 40. If no
amplitude is greater than the threshold the output is 0.
max_amplitude
The fourth column in the output
data. It is the single instance, within
a delta time period, of the strongest
acceleration of any movement.
Please note that this output has been
automatically filtered by dividing by
4. The filter is only to make the data
more manageable.
energy
This is the fifth in the output data. This
represents the total intensity of all
movement within a delta time period. This
column can be customized by changing the
energy divider.
6.6 Smart GPS
Smart GPS is a powerful tool that can prevent the GPS from attempting fixes that would
normally be missed. Many missed fix attempts occur when the animal is resting and/or in
a position that is not ideal for GPS positioning. The Smart GPS measures the movement
of the study animal, and if the animal is not moving more than a user programmed
threshold the GPS will not attempt a fix. This feature can drastically improve battery life
